Schuur Metals supplied the special Copper Discs which comprise the bulk of the "Impactor" on the "Deep Impact" Spacecraft. This material is a special temper of C110 Copper especailly produced for this project. Schuur Metals is proud to have been able to provide this unique product for this program. The Impactor is scheduled to collide with Comet Tempel 1 on July the 4th 2005. NASA has promised some spectacular fireworks on the 4th which may be visible by the naked eye.
